Julia Easterlin is an award-winning songwriter and one of the rare a cappella performers to have focused her career on original material. Come hear Julia’s thoughts on the creative process. And take careful notes! SingStrong is proud to partner with Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in announcing an original a cappella songwriting contest with a $2,500 prize!
Let science lead the way!
10 stunning, new evidence based research articles. 10 shocking conclusions. Singers, coaches and directors will learn what we really know, and what we’re just guessing at. For all experience levels. Gather the facts for healthy singing! Get empowered!
The Science of Vocal Technique by Michael Miller, MS, PT. (and T1)Vocal teachers use analogies to elicit physical changes. It works for some and frustrates others. Why not just cut to the chase and learn what’s really happening?
This class will use the latest scientific research to explore healthy vocal technique. What’s real and what’s bunk? Michael will present the hard data, walk you through the physiology and then demonstrate the effect on the voice. Then it’s your turn to try it out! Sing healthy. Sing high. Sing strong!
Michael Miller is a licensed physical therapist and professional singer/actor/trumpet player with many decades of training and performance. He has performed with professional a cappella group, Blind Man’s Bluff, and extensively in regional musical theatre.

Pro, Semi-Pro, Collegiate and sometimes even HS groups of all types strut their stuff in a casual, non-competitive showcase.
The best High School groups get only 8 minutes of stage time to impress a team of a cappella experts as they compete for trophies. The Single Singers perform while the judges deliberate.
TAKE 6 is the most awarded a cappella group in history. They’ll discuss performance, arranging and more in this intimate seminar setting.
TAKE 6 boasts ten Grammy’s, ten Dove Awards (Gospel Music Awards), Best Jazz Vocal Group honors for seven consecutive years in Downbeat’s prestigious Reader’s and Critic’s Poll, a Soul Train Music Award, BRE (Black Radio Exclusive) Vocal Group of the Year, two NAACP Image Award nominations, induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and countless other musical and humanitarian citations. Known for dense jazzy chords and wondrously melismatic soloists, this gospel jazz sextet has been heard from New York’s famed Blue Note to the Montreux Jazz Festival, from PBS to ABC-TV specials. Heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet!”, TAKE 6 (Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley) boast performances on Saturday Night Live, the Oscars, the Grammys, and have had the honor of performing for four sitting U.S. Presidents. They remain the quintessential and pre-eminent a cappella group in the world. Although these days the group often performs with instruments in other venues, at SingStrong Take 6 returns to their purely a cappella roots. Take 6 performs two times on Saturday night, and the two shows will NOT be the same. Don’t miss this incredible glimpse into the genius of Take 6. [Performing Sat 7PM and Sat 9:30PM]
